Before You Buy started in 2015 with a simple observation: buyers were paying for the same property report over and over, and nobody was making it easier. We've spent the years since building the platform that fixes it.
Why we exist
Buying property is one of the biggest financial decisions most Australians ever make. And yet, the information they get to make that decision is often the worst they'll ever rely on – reports are expensive, duplicated, slow to arrive, and sometimes not independent. We started BYB to fix that, by making it simple, affordable and fast for any buyer or seller to get the same quality of due diligence that institutional investors take for granted.

How it started
Before You Buy was founded in 2015 by brothers Rhys and Jordan Rogers. Rhys saw the problem first-hand in his previous role at an accounting and restructuring firm.

After a long career at Commonwealth Bank and UBS, Jordan joined the team in an operational capacity in 2020. It's quite the family affair – and the brothers genuinely love working together.

How we've grown
What started in 2015 as a way for buyers to share inspection costs has grown into Australia's largest property due-diligence platform. We've delivered reports across six states, partnered with the major property portals and CRMs, and built a vetted panel of trusted inspectors. And we're not done.
